Financials
So this summer I finally got a job, and since then I have made a total of $3,000. I have saved $1,300. Where in the heck did all of my money go? I seriously have nothing to show for it, and it really sucks. I've had all these plans of buying a car, but I keep pulling myself further away from that dream by blowing my paycheck every single week. My parents get irritated by my constant "borrowing" of their car, and I get the feeling those privileges could be revoked very soon. I plan on spending over $3,000 so i can get a really reliable car. Maybe I'll just settle for a junky one.

I can't agree with you more. I finally got my first real job last summer and after working this past year and a half, I also have nothing to show for it. Let's just say there is a big difference of what my pay stub says I have and what my bank account says I have earned. It's honestly pathetic. If you get your pay check, put it all in the bank, or at least most of it because if it's in my wallet, it seems like it will find a way and walk out because I buy so many useless things. I too had the same desire of getting a car, but I don't have one yet and every week I get my paycheck and blow it away. It's hopeless because there are so many good things out there that I want to buy.
I worked almost every day this summer and I have 3$ in my bank account only to keep it open. I have some stuff to show for it but I didn't same any muney saved witch I said I was going to do this summer.
I started my Job last Summer before school started and I really only work weekends, so I really don't make all that much. I end up using most of my paycheck for gas money. I did save for a long time and didn't spend my money on anything at all so I could buy my new computer which I had wanted for like a year. You just have to learn to control your impulses and not buy everything you see.
